Bus Wrecks

East Texas bus wreck

Two people were killed in the wreck shown in this photograph and numerous others were severely injured after this bus left the highway in East Texas and traveled down the bar ditch out of control before striking a culvert and turning over.

Bus Wreck

Our law firm brought lawsuits for people injured in this wreck against the bus company for the negligence of this bus driver for failing to maintain control of his vehicle and other negligent acts. We recovered substantial settlements for our clients as a result of the filing of those claims. The claims that we collected for included medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering, as well as other damages resulting from this collision.

No seat belts

Passengers in buses are particularly subject to being severely injured or killed during collisions since most buses are not equipped with seat belts or other safety restraints to protect riders from injuries during collisions.

Ozark mountain bus wreck

Twenty people from the Dallas area were killed when the bus shown in this picture lost control in the middle of the night in the Arkansas Ozark mountains and plunged over the side of the mountain.

Ozark Bus Wreck

Our law firm filed suit against the bus company after we found the demolished remains of this bus and we proved that the bus was traveling with defective brakes.

Bus companies have a higher duty

Bus companies are "common carriers" and this means that they get paid to transport people safely from one point to another. They are held to a higher duty, a higher standard of care, in the performance of their duties as over the road drivers than an ordinary driver as they are getting paid by the passengers to drive them safely from one destination to another. The public relies upon these companies and their drivers to be cautious and careful in the way they operate their buses, and when they are not careful, if they breach that duty to their passengers, then they will be held liable for any and all damages they cause to their passengers or others motorists. They must be safe and careful in the discharge of their driving duties and protect the lives and safety of all of their passengers. If they don't, then you can see in these pictures the possible results of negligent driving by bus drivers.

Passengers have no control

A bus wreck is a situation in which the passengers have absolutely no control over the operation of the vehicle in which they ride. Paying bus passengers are simply at the mercy of the driver of a commercial bus, and it is the skill, training and caution of the commercial bus driver that may mean the difference between life and death for the passengers on the bus.

Damages

People injured in bus wrecks often incur large hospital bills, ambulance bills, doctor bills, physical therapy bills, as well lost wages. All of these damages can be recovered against negligent bus companies, including damages for mental anguish and conscious pain and suffering. I will help you recover these costs and damages against a negligent bus company.
